Sleepy Boys

Bruno barged into his house with Abbacchio behind him, dragging himself to the old couch. He plopped himself and laid down. It doesn’t have the most comfortable cushions, but he was weary and could not bring himself to his bed. It had been a long and draining day, but Abbacchio didn’t have to do as much as Bruno did. He still had some energy left.

“Bucciarati, shouldn’t you rest in your bed? That sofa looks like it had seen better days,” Abbacchio commented. “And it’s cold.” It was January. “You’ll need some blankets.”

He yawned. “Then, could you bring me one, please?”

“How about a better idea? I’ll bring you to the bed.”

“Wha—?”

Abbacchio lifted him without a sweat, holding him as a guy would with his girl, and their faces were close together, causing Bruno to blush.

“See, you’re cold,” Abbacchio noted. “I remember Fugo telling me that your cheeks turn red when it’s cold.”

The white-haired man carried him upstairs, laid him on the double bed, and tucked him in. Ah, it was much more comfortable than the couch, and the sheets were warm and soft.

Bruno checked the window from where he lay and saw the sun setting. Was it too bright to say goodnight? “Goodnight,” he said anyway.

“Goodnight,” Abbacchio replied. He kissed him on the lips, but then he was mortified, thinking Bruno didn’t want the kiss. “Oh my god! I did not mean to kiss you! It just happened!”

“No, it’s fine.”

“Sorry. I should leave.” He headed to the door.

“Wait!” Bruno ordered. “It’s going to be a cold night. And I need someone to keep me warm and cozy. Will you do that for me?”

Abbacchio turned around, cheeks rosy. “Do you mean that?”

“Of course! I want you here. Rest with me, assuming you’re tired.”

“Hearing Mista talk nonsense gets tiring, so I’m pretty tired. Just not as tired as you.” Abbacchio got in bed with him. “Oh my gosh, this bed is so cozy. I would never leave this bed. How do you get up in the morning?”

“I tell myself I have important things to do.”

Abbacchio cuddled against Bruno. “Have anything to do tomorrow, or can we stay in bed?”

“I doubt Polpo needs us to do anything. Even if we do, I’m sure Fugo will take care of things.”
